23/01/2013 OTOT icon/sonic symphony opens the Como theater symphonic season
Defined as "The most surreal show of the year" (Vanity Fair, January, 2013) OTOT, Avital's icon/sonic symphony for an extended chamber orchestra, 5 percussions, 3 accordions, video & live electronics had opened the 200° anniversary of the Theater of Como, Italy, inaugurating the theater's symphonic season.
OTOT (in Hebrew=signs or signals) deals with the various interpretations of unexplained messages /sighs/signals
in culture, science and tradition. It is a musical observation and investigation of reactions to these inner & outer signals and their structural impact upon a group/individual relations.

Working and posing with Lukas Hemleb
Lukas Hemleb (http://www.hemleb.org/) is one of my favorite theater directors. His work expands from directing baroque, classical and contemporary operas and plays in Europe (Royal Opera House London, Teatro Real Madrid, l’Odéon Paris) till creation of unique poetic works with local artists in Africa and South-East Asia. In the recent month Lukas and me had became close, and finally we are starting to work on a series of projects planned for the next years in Europe and Asia. In a two days marathon in Milan (just before the beginning of rehearsals for his Gluck in Genève) we also managed to visit the wonderful exhibition of Ugo La Pietra in the Triennale and to do some dramatic photo posing.
