In a narrow and windy part of Calabria, between the Sant'Eufemia and the Squillace gulfs, in a small and fertile rural area rises the Mulinum, a mill that cultivates ancient grains and grinds them producing different types of flour.
This place of tradition is a natural cradle of rebirth, managed by a young dreamer and enlightened supporters, with the support of the Ambassadors of the Third Paradise, it aims to become the center from which the message is spoken that culture, as a value, as an important factor of development of the territory from the social, civil and economic point of view.
Artist and Ambassador of the Third Paradise Yuval Avital, has created as a gift for this territory an immense kinetic work of sound-art composed of hundreds of bells and rattles from each part of the Mediterranean lands hanged on wheat-like flexible metallic sculptures; played by the wind and by visitors alike, generating a contemporary yet ancestral symbol.
A permanent and participative sound sculpture that brings with it the tradition of the various countries, the wind of rebirth in the collective responsibility and the strength of all those who want to collaborate and be part of a composition of sounds that come together giving voice to the many nuances of the Mediterranean soul, our sea that bathes and unites three continents.
For the inauguration of The Rattles Garden, Avital composed a performance following his poetic of Crowd Music, putting together women from the territory of Calabria and working constantly with them preparing the show. ‘Terra’ is the name of the performance, where numerous women played 7 archetypal posing- moving.
